Chittagong top goon 'Kana' Bakkar held after gunfight

Police yesterday arrested a top criminal after he was injured in an 'encounter' between his associates and the law enforcers in the city's Lalkhan Bazar.

Sources said Abu Bakkar alias Kana Bakkar, 35, received four bullets in his hands and legs in the encounter at Bagghona of Lalkhan Bazar at about 2:00am.

I didn't realize the RAB was hiring Paleo gunnies to do their work ...

Might be a case of interrogation by kneecapping.
After exchanging 50 rounds of bullet with the policemen, Bakkar's associates fled the scene leaving him.

Were they even ever there?

Police took seriously injured Bakkar to the Chittagong Medical College and Hospital where the on-duty doctors performed an operation on him and removed four bullets.

And left six others just as a reminder ...

The law enforcers recovered 13 bullets, a gun, an LG and six cartridges from the scene.

Officer-in-charge of Khulshi Police Station Kazi Shahabuddin, Assistant Sub-inspector Harunur Rashid and Constable Abdul Wadud were also injured in the incident.

Khulshi police yesterday filed two fresh cases against Bakkar. Bakkar, a top criminal backed by Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD), already had 19 cases filed against him on ~~twelve systems~~ different charges including murder, robbery and rape.

#8 i kinda think mr. kana bakkar is one lucky guy; he didn't get to utter the famous RAB Tag line: ( all together now) "rosebud,"
and thus deprived us of the obligatory: "He's dead, Jim."

#6 I just visited the official RAB website. They have a list of weapons seized over the past year and have them broken down into the following catagories:

Kata Rifle
Revolver
Pistol
SBBL Gun
Pipe Gun
Local Gun (LG)
Shutter Gun
Shooter Gun
Shot Gun
Air Gun

That should clear things up, right?

#5 LG? Possibly they mean Long Gun (Rifle) translation seems full of errors.

By the way, a "Stutter Gun" is an automatic rifle (Like a BAR), think the "Shutter Gun" has been explained?
