Baby tax needed to save planet, claims expert
2007-12-10
A WEST Australian medical expert wants families to pay a $5000-plus "baby levy" at birth and an annual carbon tax of up to $800 a child.

Writing in today's Medical Journal of Australia, Associate Professor Barry Walters said every couple with more than two children should be taxed to pay for enough trees to offset the carbon emissions generated over each child's lifetime.
But, but, but, who will serve the Masters?

#9  I knew money for the nuts was at the root of this "global warmimg" scam.

#8  You just take the $5000 that Hillary's giving to every child and use that to pay the baby tax.

Oh, nope, Hillary's money goes into a trust account and the tax is due now. Lessee, lemme think....

#7  How about a "useless pseudo-intellectual turd" tax? Charge it on completion of every non-science or engineering PhD and non-MBA masters degree, and add a yearly surcharge for academic employment above the secondary level. Triple it for "sabbaticals".

Throw in a four-fold surcharge on patchouli and Birkenstock sales while you're at it.

#6  When these moonbats start 'Jonestowning' their own asses, I'll start to pay attention [for a moment or two].

#5  Seems to me a tax on stupidity would generate more revenue.

And I'm betting that the tax would only apply to certain 'oppressive' ethnic groups or certain nations (all 1st world).

#4  Betcha he wasn't planning to apply it uniformally to all families on the planet. Just the ones who could afford the $5000, which means 'tax' is the operative word, not 'baby.'

#3  If we had a good government like the Chicoms we could add even more restrictions.

#2  W/r/t globalwarmomania: Freshman Logic is all the rage! What a bunch of moonbattery.

Carrying out this insane logic. If the child dies at, say an early age, like an infant, to the parents get a refund, or at least a credit on their income tax? Have you thought this and a dozen more issues out yet, Bunkie?

#1  How about we just shoot your stupid ass instead and call it an "offset"?
