2007-11-30 |
The numbers are available at the site. However the Nov 07 fatalities were marginally higher than Oct 07 (this may be hyped by al-Reuters). Also, as pointed out by many Rantburgians, the fatality rate isn't the only metric worth looking at. However, it will take a few weeks before reliable figures come in on Iraqi civilian fatalies, etc. |

#3 STARS-N-STRIPES > US ARMY TO PRIORITIZE 37,000 TROOPS FOR FIRST COMBAT TOURS. Army discovers that four out of every ten newbies/other have never been deployed to Irag andor Agfhanistan. Reminds me of the turn-of-the-20th century + pre/post WW1 US Army - while its total size was severely limited by Congressional budgets-legislation, the service made sure its cadres were absolut professional and mostly combat/war experienced. |
