#2 More like, if you want a vote, become a citizen... with all that implies. I agree. Otherwise Israel is torn between the competing desires of American Jews, English Jews, French Jews... all those who live safely elsewhere, perhaps buying Israel bonds and trees, and saying, "Next year in Jerusalem," every Passover. That said, does the Knesset have to ratify any treaty Israel's representatives make? Because if so, Annapolis will be as dead as the Kyoto Protocols when Mr. Clinton was president. |
