Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea expressed readiness to take part in Lebanon's intra-Christian meeting, stressing that holding private talks with Christian opposition leader Gen. Michel Aoun was not important. Geagea's remarks came following a meeting on Monday with Kuwaiti Ambassador Abdel Aal al-Qinaee."We discussed the need for dialogue among the Lebanese at all times," Geagea told reporters. "I'm willing to attend any meeting Â… as long as everyone, without exception, attends," he said.
Geagea stressed that March 14 presidential nominees were consensus candidates. "If they (opposition) rejected them, it would be an indication they did not accept anyone," Geagea said. "Consequently, consensus for them is imposing a candidate from their side which is unacceptable for us," he added.
In response to a question as to what the cause of the delay in the long-awaited Geagea-Aoun meeting was, Geagea said: "There is no need for it."
