| Paratroopers detain suspected IED emplacers |

| Seven insurgents, including two suspected improvised explosive device emplacers were detained in an operation in Adwaniyah Oct. 17. One of the suspected IED emplacers, who is also believed to have been involved in kidnappings, was in possession of a fake ID. Paratroopers of Troop B, 1st Squadron, 40th Cavalry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team (Airborne), 25th Infantry Division, detained the insurgents during a clearance operation. The paratroopers are operationally attached to the 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division. Evidence found on the suspects was confiscated, and the detainees were taken in for questioning. |
