#16 Methinks this'll be Pakistan's civil war. Or not-so-civil considering the combatants. |

#15 When I was in the service during the 80's, aircrews returning from Pak had a standard joke: What's transparent and lies in the gutter? Answer: a Pakistani with the s--t kicked out of 'em. |

#14 The fact that Shitte units are being deployed... I nominate that for the Freudian typo of the day. |

#12 Took 'em long enough, if true. I'd have been on their asses after the first missile attempt, myself. |

#11 Pakistan better plan thoroughly. If they send the typical ill trained and ill led troops into combat areas they will be slaughtered and or desert in great numbers. |

#6 The fact that Shitte units are being deployed highlights the seriousness of this offensive. Just like when Iraq brings in the Kurds into Sunni areas to pacify them. There is no love lost therefore the actions will be more decisive. I believe Bhutto is a Harvard Grad. Perhaps the West and her exile has openned her eyes to the cruel realities facing her failed nation-state. |

#4 The Taliban just can't play nice. They try and try to assassinate Musharif and now make a run at Bhutto. They kidnap and decapitate Pak troops. The Pak government, ISI notwithstanding, has come to realize these people are not their friends and should be introduced to Allah as quickly as possible. |

#3 Optimist that I am, I think this just might be a tipping point. |

#2 This can't be true. Pakistan to make war against Waziristan? How can the ISI allow this? Besides, the Army officers will order their troops to surrender, lead them into ambushes, etc. Same as Mao and his moles in the Nationalists. |
