(SomaliNet) A government official has been badly wounded by a group of armed insurgents in Beledweyn city, 335km north of Mogadishu, the capital of Somalia on Saturday, witness said. Hassan Ibrahim, the head municipal in Beledweyn, has been wounded inside the city when six armed men opened fire on him. Ibrahim was left as he was dead but was still alive and taken to the hospital, according to a local resident. The government officials in Belweyn condemned the shooting as a crime against the humanity and vowed to pursue those who were responsible for the latest attack.
