Two security personnel were killed and eleven others injured in six separate incidents on Saturday and Sunday in North Waziristan, sources said.According to officials, militants attacked the Gora Qabristan checkpost south of Miranshah at around 12am on Sunday and injured three security personnel. Also, militants fired rockets at the Tootnari checkpost in the Shawal area west of Miranshah at around 10pm on Saturday, killing one soldier and injuring two others.
In another incident, a remote-controlled improvised explosive device went off in the Mir Ali area and injured four troops late on Sunday. They were part of a military convoy going to Miranshah from Bannu. Two troops were injured when militants fired four missiles on an army camp in Miranshah at around 7pm on Sunday.
Separately, a soldier was killed when militants attacked an army camp in Dattakhel tehsil at around 5pm on Sunday. Also, troops deployed at the Tull checkpost south of Miranshah retaliated when militants attacked them. However, no casualties were reported.
