| #2 *shrug* It's not reasonable to expect scientists and engineers to spell illogically. That's why technical people spell it gage and English teachers gauge. Back during my brief stint in the lab it used to drive me mad. ;-) Thank goodness for spell check programs -- but they will default to either British or American standard. Which is probably what happened here. |

| #1 Put it down to inconsistency - we don't spell color, "colour" like the Brits - why should we put a U in Endeavor? And don't get me started on that whole stupid, "the committee are" cretinism. |
