A masked suspected Taliban militant was killed while trying to kidnap a local school principal of British-origin in Pakistani tribal town of Bannu, said police on Monday. Four masked armed gunmen broke into the house of Steve Cohen, principal of Muslim Public School, on Sunday after mid-night in Sikander Khel area, about 6 kilometers from Bannu tribal town, local senior police officer Sanaullah told KUNA by telephone. While they were dragging Steve to their Jeep, his two bodyguards opened fire on them, said Sanaullah. He said there was exchange of fire that killed one militant on the spot while three others managed to escape.
