#10  Fleet week and the Blue Angel's air show in a town that went in the 50's from one of the largest concentrations of military, and especially naval basing in the US to a place that has nothing whatsoever remaining of the US military except the brave little Coast Guard Island in Alameda, the Bay area deserves only military contempt. Hunter's Point, Mare Island, Alameda Naval Air Station, The Army Port facility, Fort Mason, the Presidio, Treasure Island..... SF has wilfully dumped the US military, and they deserve nothing from it.

#9  At first i was for moving the whole damn thing to Long Beach or San Diego where the locals would be more appreciative. But now I want them to INCREASE the actiivities in San Francisco just because it will make the moonbats squirm and to prove they at the end of the day POWERLESS to stop the U.S. Military.

#8  Zen, I think the vessel that was going to be decommissioned here was the Iowa. She is now up in the Delta and can be seen from 680. Yes, an absolutely idiotic decision by the moonbat Board of Supes in SF.

I've been on a thread at SF Gate on this issue. Many locals hate the military and don't want to be reminded it exists. The noise makes them wet their panties and scares their poor little animals. And they live in fear that that they will die in a burning hell of JP-5. All of this is good, IMO, so I hope they keep coming.

#6  These are the same monumentally stupid shits that managed to NOT get the USS Missouri decommissioned here as a floating museum. So much for dozens of great jobs and millions of tourist dollars per year. Thank goodness I toured this incredible vessel several years ago during a Fleet Week. Words cannot describe the awesome dimensions of such a craft. Words also fail at conveying how incredible of an experience it was to stand where the WWII Japanese surrender was signed.

#4  Just remind me if I forget, given these people believe they're outside the compact, that when the next big one hits, not to give to any charity that operates relief/recovery for these parasites. Let them enjoy their 'independence' al la New Orleans without sympathy. No power, no water, no food, no transportation, etc. They can get aid from those they give sanctuary and comfort to.

#3  Agree that AF and USN should boycott SF. Reasons? Boxer, Pelosi, Dellums, Lee, Stark, Woolsey, Tauscher, on and on I could go.

#2  Use to live and work in SF. Worked downtown SoMa near the Embarq and had a nice 16th floor view of Bay Bridge and BA's when they would scream down bay scaring the beejeebers out of the people walking along the waterfront. Fun stuff and everyone turned out for the fleet week and airshow. But of course, most of the people were from the East Bay (slightly more sane, but not by much) and south bay (marginally saner). The typical Fillmore-ite was less interested and would rather sip its skinny latte than watch the show. I have never understood why the AFs continue to come to SF especially with its politically supported anti-military stance.
