Johnston 'Alive' Palestinian Leaders Tell Euro MPs
2007-05-01
(AKI) - Kidnapped BBC journalist Alan Johnston - who was abducted on 12 March in Gaza - is alive, Palestinian deputy leader Azzam al-Ahmad told a 12-member delegation of MEPs in the West Bank town of Ramallah on Monday. Palestinian security services also know what they must do to secure Johnston's release, Azzam told the MEPs. BBC correspondents held a rally in central Cairo, Egypt, on Monday demanding the release of their colleague.

London colleagues and friends of Johnston on Monday also held a vigil outside BBC headquarters in West London, where they released 50 white balloons to symbolise what will be on Tuesday the 50 days he has been held hostage.

#4  Kidnapped BBC correspondents, why do they hate loggerhead turtles and northern fulmars?

#3  I hope Johnston is released soon, alive and physically unharmed.

Meanwhile, I spit on his colleagues and their idiotic white balloons. How about 10,000 red balloons (or is it 150,000, or more?) released for the victims of Arab and jihadi terrorism that is almost always whitewashed by the BBC (and that's just in its English service - it's chilling and appalling to consider the delusional poison that must spew forth in the Arabic service)? How about balloons for the IDF soldiers following elaborate ROEs to avoid harming non-combatants while hunting down cowardly thugs whose only SOP is to attack children, the elderly, school buses, and pizza parlors?

I wish all BBC staff good health, long life, and happiness, and their organization the odious oblivion it so richly deserves.

#2  Well, they would if they could. But they can't, so they won't.

#1  So why don't they do what they must do?
