Four people have been killed during a militant attack near the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, said news reports. A security officer and three gunmen were killed in the attack on Sunday when rockets and small arms were shot at a unit of the Frontier Corps and Naray Dhoke village in the north of Waziristan. Naray Dhoke is right down the road from Okay Dhoke, natch.
North Waziristan is where the Taliban and allied factions are claimed to run bases for the campaign against foreign and government forces in Afghanistan. The Pakistani government last year concluded much criticized peace treaties with local tribes in a bid to contain the movement of Taliban fighters in the area.
