| Fazl refuses to mediate in Jamia Hafsa issue |

| Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) leader Maulana Fazlur Rehman has said he will not act as mediator to resolve the row between the government and Jamia Hafsa. “Government policies are promoting extremism in the country,” Fazl said in an interview with a private TV channel on Sunday. He also alleged that the government was trying to create differences among ulema. Bomb blasts in Hangu, Tank and Dera Ismail Khan were a conspiracy to topple the NWFP government, he said. Fazl was confident that no opposition party would join hands with the government. |
