 Her father gave her to another family to settle a dispute and that family tortured her for 2 years. Often disputes are solved in Pashtunwali by giving daughters. Eventually people rescued her and took her to Kabul for help. She is only 7 years old. She is being treated by a Kabuli doctor. |

| #2 I just read a column yesterday (sorry, I can't find the link - maybe later) where the author once met an Iraqi back before Saddam's tender mercies were known. The Iraqi made a flat statement that Iraqis are the most barbaric people on earth. From what I've seen, the Pashtuns are in a league of their own in that department. |
