2-cent increase in stamp prices urged |
2007-02-27 |
A postal regulatory commission recommended a 2-cent increase in the cost of mailing a letter today and urged the Post Office to introduce a "forever" stamp valid for first-class postage even when rates rise. The recommendation to increase postage to 41 cents was a penny less than the postal service had requested. People still use stamps? For what? |

#2 Let's see... Email is free and instantaneous. Nearly all cellphone carriers--and now many land-line providers--offer free nationwide long-distance calling. When it comes to packages, Fed-Ex, DHL, and UPS are faster and more customer friendly in so many ways (office hours, delivery hours, waiting time, pick-up service, etc.). What was this story about again? |
