| TRENTON, N.J. (AP) -- New Jersey has warned squirrel hunters near a toxic waste dump about consuming the critters because they could be contaminated with lead. |

| #4 Not bad, stewed up with some corn, limas, taters & anything else you have left over. The original Brunswick stew, before folks switched to using chicken in it. I'm sure rat would work fine too. With both rodents, it probably is a good idea not to use the ones caught around a toxic waste dump though. |

| #2 #1 CS - I remember our poor relations from the country (and if they were poor compared to us, that's poor) bringing Nannie a mess of squirrels a couple of times. She skinned them and floured & fried them for supper. I don't remember the taste, except that they didn't taste odd - just floured/fried meat. Yes, squirrels are rodents. But they're BIG rodents, and they were free. |
