| Chancellor of the Exchequer James Gordon Brown, the British cabinet minister responsible for all economic and financial matters, said in a visit with British troops in Basra the money would create "jobs in the area and will continue to offer that security and also to ensure greater prosperity of the area," Sky News reported. Britain has already committed more than $1 billion to Iraq by the end of this year. |
