No to polio drops because 'it's a matter of manhood'
2006-11-19
If your kids are crippled because you're too religious to let them take the vaccine it's no skin off my fore. I'm past the point of feeling sorry for the primitives.
The anti-polio campaign in NWFP suffered a severe setback following the unprecedented refusal of 70 percent of the provinceÂ’s population to take the vaccine. According to sources, the failure of the drive has been attributed to negative propaganda that the vaccine causes impotency in male children and triggers puberty in female children.

An official of the provincial health ministry said that the three-day drive against the polio virus that ended on November 16 came at the worst possible time considering the World Health Organisation (WHO) had recently launched its campaign in the country, expecting a polio-free Pakistan by the year 2007. The official stated that a radio programme by a private FM channel a day before the drive was the reason behind the failure of the campaign. The anchorperson of the radio programme was fired the next day and the station lost all its advertisements from the drive, which were to be aired within the next three days.

Nabi, a senior member of the Peshawar High Court Bar Association (PHCBA), filed a case in the Peshawar High Court (PHC) demanding an end to the WHO-backed polio vaccination, saying that the vaccine contained two additional ingredients which had harmful side effects for children. Nabi claimed that WHO had failed to give reasons for the presence of two ingredients in the vaccine: Estrogen and Estradoil, which he said were not required to fight the disease. “I am not against the anti-polio effort, nor am I against family planning, but the recipients of the vaccine should know what is being administered to them,” he said.

I'd agree wholeheartedly save for the fact that these outbreaks spread and cause death to other innocent people. Otherwise, it couldn't happen to more deserving people. I'll even go so far as to include the innocent children. They would have grown up being indoctrinated by these idjit parents and so become the exact same sort of fucked up assholes.

Holy Men prefer to keep a tight hold on their masses and have the kufrs stay out, even if this means lotsa crippled kids (they just don't care about them... why should they?... They're just rubes).

The Holy Men prefer it this way. Crippled kids can't run very fast. It makes them easier to catch and they put up less resistance.

As for the whacko imams suggesting that the polio vaccine causes sterility, I say we can use this! Bolster the rumors and the whackos will take themselves out of the gene pool eventually.

Or we could just stop wasting our money by no longer sending vaccines to any of these Muslim countries. Faster, Mr. Darwin, if you please.

#15  I agree more with the theory that it's because they are getting better at diagnosing autism spectrum diseases, not that there is an increase due to vaccinations.

But the diagnosis of severe autism have climbed dramatically as well. If it was merely better recognition, the incidence of severe autism should stay the same. Something is going on.

As for the whacko imams suggesting that the polio vaccine causes sterility, I say we can use this! Bolster the rumors and the whackos will take themselves out of the gene pool eventually. :-)

And personally, I think the low birthrate in the West is due to the fact that kids are a ton of work (on many fronts!) and take a ton of money to make the competetive. Besides, the West has better cable TV. :-)

#14  Send them blankets, polio infected blankets.

working for the kids cuts down on the number of kids that can be afforded. Living on handouts and aid, in whatever squalid conditions such handouts require throws kids as a pasttime and with no impact beyond another hand at the "donations" trough.

#12  The reason we have a lower birthrate is because we have learned to "keep it in our pants". We don't like living in poverty with a dozen dirty little kids running around the yard. We like a comfortable lifestyle with 1 or 2 kids, or no kids. So we spend 50 cents on a rubber. Africans get free condoms by the ship load and use them as party baloons or something.

#11  The low birthrate in the West is deliberate. Look at all the abortions.

The only action I see necessary WRT these idiots is to prohibit them from entering civilized realms unless they accept the vaccinations. The Polio virus has no civil rights, nor do you have a right to carry it.

Or, finally, if they insist on refusing the polio vaccine, how about some strychnine instead? One or the other.

#10  birthrate is managed in the west due to our high survival rate. Infant survival rates are low in Africa, high birthrate make up for it.

#9  Nabi may be onto something: virtually all Westerners are innoculated, and their birthrate is 1.5 - 2.2 (or so), while in the third world the innoculation rate is lower and the birthrate is way higher.
Beyond sarcasm, I suspect there may be something about our lifestyle that affects fertility; maybe having to do with hormones and antibiotics we feed our food, or maybe that our weak survive to reproduce, or maybe our soft lifestyle weakens us (reproductively and/or psychologically.) "That which does not kill me makes me stronger."

#8  I'm old enough to remember the drives against Malaria as being the one thing that would "Depopulate Africa", then seeing the exact same thing used as an excuse with each "New" disease that comes down the pike, Polio. AIDS, Hemorhagic Fever, Bird Flu, etc.

The question arises "Just where did all those Africans come from? If each disease was to "Depopulate Africa" would'nt Africa be empty by now?"
Don't say "The health agencies are doing a marvelous job". We hear almost daily the tales of Africans pulling exactly the same thing as this article, (Denying Treatment) and yet they prosper.

It seems to me to be a wasted effort, Africans seem to nultiply and prosper regardless of any "Western" medical treatment provided, what's the current rate of AIDS? Increasing/Decreasing/about the same as a year ago?

I strongly suspect the heavy hand of "Funding" scare people with grossly exaggerated stories of death to the "Poor innocent (Fill in the blanks)by the millions UNLESS WE DO SOMETHING NOW (Give money to tour local red thingy).

It's worked so far.

#5  AUTISM = PAN-GENDER/KIDDIE SEXISM??? And, versus ACROSS-THE-BOARD DETRIMENTAL NATIONAL MORTALITY RATES???
Posted by: JosephMendiola   2006-11-19 01:28

#4  twobyfour, I remember them saying it was because of thimerosal in the vaccines.

Problem is....they took it out of the vaccines in the 90's. The autism rates still are going up. All the old supplies have been used up by now, and most of the kids currently being diagnosed as autistic for the first time haven't been exposed to it (unless they got flu vaccine, and it's a reduced amount from before).

I agree more with the theory that it's because they are getting better at diagnosing autism spectrum diseases, not that there is an increase due to vaccinations. After all, ADD rates and other learning disorder rates have also gone up during the same time period, and no one is linking them to vaccinations (at least nobody I've heard of has said they thought there was a link.)

#3  Swamp Blondie, am not sure what conspiracy nutz think, but there is a correlation between "fast track" vaccination and occurences of autism.

The cases of autism are less frequent where the vaccinations is more spread out and initiated at least at age of six or more months, with substantial blocks of time between specific vaccines. Of course, there may be other factors that function as vectors.

#2  How come the rest of the world's conspiracy nutz think it causes autism, yet in Pakistan and other "enlightened" parts of the Muslim world, they think it causes impotence/accelerated puberty?
