Iraq
Warrant issued for Sunni leader
2006-11-17
Iraq's Shiite-led Interior Ministry issued an arrest warrant Thursday for the top leader of the country's Sunni minority - a move certain to inflame already raging sectarian violence in Iraq. Interior Minister Jawad al-Bolani, a Shiite, announced on state television that Harith al-Dhari was wanted for inciting terrorism and violence among the Iraqi people.

On Friday, government spokesman Ali al-Dabbagh played down what al-Bolani had said about the arrest warrant. "There was an investigation warrant related to the activities of Sheik Harith al-Dhari," al-Dabbagh told state-run Iraqiyah television. "This is up to the Iraqi judiciary system and has not political effect."

#1  Is this the guy we have arrested twice before. Both in raids one was a raid of a suspected high ranking Insurgent meeting the other was when some high ranking Insurgent tried to run into his house and hide we pursued arrested everyone but the Sunni lobbied and got him released?

I understand Democracy is all about freedom of speech and being open to even opposing ideas but is it really nessecary for Democracy to exist that it must tolerate opposing views that are founded on (if they ever get power) destroying the capitolist/democracy they are involved in. Like Chaez or Sadr it only takes one election and thier is no correction you can't just switch from totaliterian to democracy or from capitolist to Socialist and back en forth. No were did the founders write the Democratic government to be bonified must accept opposition parties that are founded on the destruction of such Democracy if they just get voted in ONCE. Thats called suicide.
