Afghan authorities claimed to have killed eight Taliban fighters and arrested three others in the latest military offensive against Taliban in AfghanistanÂ’s Paktika province Tuesday.Sources while quoting Afghan officials told The News that fierce fighting was going on between the Afghan security forces and Taliban fighters at Hasan Khel and Saltak towns of Pathan sub-division in Paktika province. They said US-led coalition forces earlier bombed the hideouts of Taliban fighters in these areas and then Afghan security forces started ground operation, in which according to authorities eight Taliban were killed and three others were taken into custody.
