#13 It sounds like pretty work, whatever it was. Thanks for the explanations, Oldspook. |

#12 Think of it this way - to fast rope, you get the helicopters to stop - and they ahve to come low. So its pretty obvious somethings up. Parachuting out of the back of a Chinook, it doesnt stop and its higher up. So they may think its just a bird going someplace else, as opposed to the fastrope scenario. Plus a chinook carries a lot more people than a Blackhawk. |

#9 I don't know but I would bet if this happened those "parachuted" US forces were probably more along the lines of "repelled" US soldgiers out of a helicopter. Sounds like a Taskforce 145 or whatever number this cycle is using backed up by some IA. |

#8 lol, parachutin' in. I love it! We own the night over there, still, it appears. As long as we get the Bad Guyz(tm), I'm all for doing this in the night, in hopes we get another mug shot like Khalid Sheikh Mohammad in his wife beater from Pakistan looking like a hung-over frat boy the next morning. (channeling "The Unit") Iraqi Commander: "Who's that parachutin' in to central Baghdad?" Spec Ops Commander: "Hold your fire, friendlies comin' in. Oh, BTW, that's Mr. Brown and Mr. White." Iraqi Commander: "Wait, I thought you were Mr. White." Spec Ops Commander: "I am." |

#5 RD, you'd be surprised how things work. Remember that specops isnt always HALO or fastrope - sometimes its hop and pop off the back of a helicopter (ramp jump from a You have to look at what part of Baghdad they are talking about - it encompasses a pretty broad area and is rather loosely defined. Google Earth is your friend. |

#3 Hey, bad guys: If you hear a plane overhead, US troops may be jumping out of it to get you. Or maybe not. Or maybe you won't hear it at all . . . . :-) |
