Soldiers Become Citizens in Iraq

LSA Anaconda, Iraq – Proud non-citizen servicemembers raised their right hands, took the Oath of Allegiance, and became proud American citizens during an inspirational Veterans Day weekend ceremony at Living Support Area Anaconda in Balad, Iraq Nov.12.

A number of dignitaries spoke to the almost capacity crowd at LSA AnacondaÂ’s Sustainer Theater. Brig. Gen. Michael J. Terry, 13th Sustainment Command (Expeditionary) Commanding General, delivered the key note speech. Terry told the new citizens and the crowd that there is probably no other situation or investment, except serving your Lord, where a person can give up so little and receive so much more in return.

#3  Exactly the kind of citizens we want: those who think it worth protecting. Not like that Indian woman who heads up PepsiCo, who became a citizen for convenience, then made a speach at Columbia Business School not long after explaining exactly why she loathes America and Americans.

LMAO - anyone that's been there can tell you "living" isn't the best way to describe it in spite of the nice PX, etc.

its LOGISTICS SUPPORT AREA ANACONDA. Or LSA-A. Or simply Balad (even tho the town itself, that shithole, is off the the NE).

And a shout out to those guys in the walled compound down there, you know who you are, and we got your backs here in CONUS. Wish I could be with ya but Im just too old and brokedick to be in the field with the warriors. They still got the 3 strand and the goats that go right thru it on the base perimeter?

For those that don't know LSAA is the busiest set of runways in the world right now - used to be Saddam's top airbase in terms of perks and loyal people.

Now someone PLEASE get reporters with at least some knowledge of the military... even though I'm sure this is a nice report from a rather earnest reporter in this case, they still don't *know* the military.
