(KUNA) -- One person was killed and five others were injured as a result of two explosions that took place in the city of Mosul, a source at the Kurdish National Alliance said today. The first explosion took place near one of the alliance's headquarters, resulting in the killing of one of its guards and the injuring of another. The second blast occurred when a roadside bomb went off while a police patrol was passing by in the neighborhood of Nabi Younis, resulting in injuring two women, an elderly person and a policeman. The injured were rushed to hospital for treatment. Meanwhile, Iraqi and multi-national forces arrested 15 terrorists, in addition to seizing a large quantity of arms and taking over a car-bomb manufacturing warehouse. The security operation was part of a military campaign codenamed 'black panther', Iraqi Army commander in Kirkuk Major General Anwar Amin said in a press release. |
