KANDAHAR, Afghanistan - Nineteen Afghan road workers were killed in Afghanistan on Friday when a bomb blast struck their vehicle and they were ambushed by a mob of Taleban, the interior ministry said.The bus was attacked on the outskirts of the southern city of Kandahar before noon, ministry spokesman Zamarai Bashari told AFP. “Nineteen people were martyred and only three wounded workers managed to escape the Taleban ambush,” Bashari said.
After the blast, the attackers descended on the blown-up bus and shot into the vehicle.
