Police foiled a suicide bombing attempt on Wednesday by seizing a vehicle loaded with explosives near Quetta, Aaj television reported. Police tried to stop a suspected vehicle outside Quetta, but the riders opened fire at the policemen. Police retaliated and the men fled leaving their car behind. Three bombs and several explosive devices had been planted in the vehicle. Police sources said the vehicle was coming from Chaman border, adding that the suspected militants could have targeted some important place in Quetta.
