Israel captures two Hezbollah fighters
2006-07-23
ISRAELI troops had seized two Hezbollah guerrillas during fighting in southern Lebanon, the army said today. They were believed to be the first prisoners taken in Lebanon during the 12-day-old conflict.

The army said they were seized in the village of Maroun al-Ras. Maroun al-Ras, just across the Lebanese border, has been the scene of heavy clashes in recent days.

#6  Blindfold them, pretend to shoot them (with blanks), and then push them in a room filled with 72 overly friendly old ladies.

#5  Here's the difference.

Hez kidnaps 2 Israeli fighters and it's enough to cause Israel to go to war.

Israel captures 2 hezzies and they'll be labeled "martyrs"

#2  After a suitable debrief time, Israel should contact someone like Egypt and remand these prisoners too them. In this way, Egypt as a signatory to a piece treaty with Israel is enabled in a proactive and responsible way.

This will do worlds for public opinion as the media will then report the Proper way to handle prisioners in an undeclared war; Hizbollah not being a state through which negotiations can occur. Egypt might then propose and be appointed to accept any prisoners from either side and hold them until hostiities cease.
