DERA BUGTI: Five commanders of Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti and their 300 supporters surrendered to the government on Friday, an official said. The commanders include Wadera Ghulam Hussain Kalpar, Wadera Fazal Shambani, Wadera Bugti Kalpar, Wadera Juma and Wadera Pahari Kalpar. DCO Abdul Samad Lasi told reporters that the surrender of the five commanders had further weakened Akbar Bugti's command and control system. He said the tribesmen supported the government's development agenda for Balochistan. Separately, some 590 Bugti tribesmen, who had deserted their homes due to escalating violence, started returned to the area on Friday. The tribesmen reached Looti, Pir Koh and Sui areas from Nasirabad district. DCO Lasi said that people were returning home since peace has been restored in the area. "The government will ensure their safety," he added.
