| THE Israeli military is calling up several thousand reserve soldiers to reinforce ground units operating on the northern border with Lebanon, a military source said today. "The army called up several thousand reserves in order to strengthen our forces against Hezbollah," said the source. They said the number called up would be fewer than a brigade, which numbers around 3000 soldiers. On July 12 the army called a rapid deployment division of 6000 soldiers to the country's northern border hours after two soldiers were snatched by Hezbollah guerrillas, sparking a massive Israeli offensive. |
