77% of Paleos support kidnapping Israeli soldier
2006-07-09
A sizable majority of Palestinians support the continued kidnappings of Israelis as well as persistent Qassam rocket fire as a means to pressure Israel to release Palestinian prisoners, according to a new poll commissioned by the Jerusalem Media and Communication Center, the results of which were released Sunday.

Of the 1,197 respondents from the West Bank and the Gaza Strip, 66.8 percent expressed support for further kidnappings of Israeli civilians while 77.2 percent backed the Kerem Shalom tunnel operation and subsequent kidnapping of Israel Defense Forces Corporal Gilad Shalit.

Nonetheless, just 47.7 percent of those polled said they believed the Shalit affair would end positively for the Palestinian side.

#15  Given that the un and the rest of the world doesnÂ’t punish bad behavior I understand why the paleos think this is a rational way to act. Iran and the Norks are holding whole sections of the world hostage and nobody is talking about dealing with them harshly. The paleos take one soldier and Israel is cowed by world opinion into not acting to free or avenge him. If only one time the world shouted “Enough” and called for the extermination of those who donÂ’t wish to play nice. Trust me eliminating 77% of the Paleos would do a LOT to changing some Middle East and Islamic attitudes and it might save more lives in the long run.

#14  The palestentians ahve become a people reared on rage and hatred, self setructive and hating of themselves as well.

Reason has no home amongst them, and neither does mercy.

Eradicate their culture, it has mutated into soemthing twisted and hideous.

#13  True. But we did just have, what, a fifteen year old fly to the Middle East by herself to marry a person who thinks like these Paleo's.

#10  I think the poll is "fake but accurate."

100% of Sock Puppets think "Palestinians" should be forceably ejected from the west bank and Gaza.

The only problem is were to? 100% of the rest of the world doesn't want them either.

#9  I agree with WhiteCollarRedneck, there's no way you can rely on this data, but even if you could, would anyone really be surprised by the outcome? They have a major Jobbsian reality distortion field in operation over there...

#7  How reliable do you think these polls are? How do they conduct them - by phone, or do they send a couple of guys from Hamas door to door with the pollster? It wouldn't surprise me to learn that the Palestinians are this stupid, but it also wouldn't surprise me if this poll is complete crap.

#6  The response is perplexing only if you think those expressing support for whatever it is Hamas is doing this week are being honest about their feelings.

#5  Yet another reason cousins shouldn't be allowed to marry.

#4  This is pretty clear evidence that Israel has been ineffective in its military actions. They should be taking whatever steps are necessary to change these minds, including incapacitating the bodies in which they reside. Too little, too slow, too late.

#3  They say this, sitting in the dark, with no water or food. They couldn't buy any anyway cause they havent been paid in a month and a half. Yeah, you're winning sport.

#1  Nonetheless, just 47.7 percent of those polled said they believed the Shalit affair would end positively for the Palestinian side.

But that response is really perplexing. I think their is a reasonable chance the paleos will cross a line and really piss the Isrealis off.
