| Man held for planning to kill Altaf Hussain |

| LAHORE: A man was arrested from the Muttahida Qaumi Movement's (MQM) international secretariat in London on Saturday for allegedly planning to assassinate MQM chief Altaf Hussain, Geo Television reported. MQM leader Dr Imran Farooq told the channel that a man entered the secretariat at 6pm and reached the main office. Farooq said that the secretariat had been closed at 5pm and the building doors were electronically locked, "But surprisingly the man managed to enter the building." He said that people at the secretariat questioned the man, who said that he had entered the building to assassinate MQM leaders. "At this, we called the police and handed him over," Farooq said. Farooq said that the secretariat had recently received information that some people had arrived in London to assassinate Hussain. "In that context the incident is very disturbing for us. We have informed the police and the Scotland Yard about the incident," he said. |
