2006-06-24 |
(SomaliNet) Kenyan Police in Nairobi are tracking down Somali warlords who are believed to have slipped into the country, East African Standard reported Friday. Teams of Kenyan police detectives was set up to pursue the warlords following the arrest of two Somalia ministers in Wajir Town while they headed to Nairobi on Tuesday. Meanwhile, the Kenyan placed a ban on the Somali warlords three weeks ago. According to Officials, a directive had been issued to look for the politicians, who were said to be hiding in Nairobi hotels and estates. Kenya's Police Commissioner Maj-Gen Hussein Ali reportedly issued the directive, but no arrest had been made by Thursday evening. The two ministers and their security were detained for flouting immigration rules. Police say plans to repatriate them were under way. The team was urgently set up after it emerged that the arrested officials passed through Wilson Airport before proceeding to a Kenya/Somalia border village. |
