Islamabad, 15 June (AKI) - Five people including the deputy prison chief have been killed in a shooting in Pakistan's southern port city of Karachi. According to a report on Pakistan's GEO TV, eight gunmen on four motorcycles opened fire on the vehicles carrying the deputy superintendent of the Karachi Central Prison, Amanullah Niazi, killing him, two bodyguards and two passersby. The incident occured on a busy street in the city's business district. The two bodyguards were killed instantly while the deputy police chief and the other two died as they were being transported to hospital. Niazi had just left a court room and was headed toward the prison.
