| Iraqis capture Baghdad cell leaders |

| Iraqi security forces carried out four simultaneous raids, killing an alleged insurgent financier and capturing two cell leaders, U.S. Central Command reported. The raids occurred June 1 and resulted in the death of a "financier responsible for bankrolling insurgent activities in at least three of the city districts," U.S. Central Command announced Monday. Iraqi army forces, assisted by U.S. military advisers, also captured two insurgent cell leaders believed responsible for attacks on Iraqis in al Ghazaliyah and al Doura, two of Baghdad's most violent neighborhoods. |
