PESHAWAR: Inayatullah, the NWFP health minister, on Friday slammed rumours that the polio vaccine administered during the vaccination drive had ingredients that affected male reproductive system and triggered the onset of puberty in females. Talking to reporters, Inayatullah said that the polio campaign in NWFP would continue till the eradication of polio from the province. Dr Fauzia Fahim and Dr Masaud, who were present there, said that polio vaccine was totally free from any anti-fertility agent, adding that no such drug had been produced whose effects could last for 25 years. Oestrodiol cannot be stored in human body for such a long time, they added. Inayatullah urged the parents to administer polio drops to their children in the incoming Immunization campaign starting on June 6.
