At least four soldiers and two militants were killed and ten others were wounded Friday in a suicide car-bomb explosion in Pakistani tribal region of North Waziristan, bordering Afghanistan, said security officials. An explosive-laden car rammed into a military convoy in Bakka Khel area, near Bannu district, killing four soldiers and two suicide attackers on the spot, officials told KUNA. They said ten soldiers were also wounded, two of them critically, in the suicide explosion.The incident was second reported in less than two weeks in the area. It comes amid the warning of local Taliban militants, issued last week, to the government of suicide attacks if it did not stop searching at over 100 security checkposts in the South and North Waziristan regions.
On Sunday, militants rammed an explosive-laden car into a military checkpost in North Waziristan agency, injuring three Frontier Core (FC) personnel. The incident was part of the warning. However, according to the official version, an explosion ripped through a car which had been stopped at a check-post for checking.
