2006-05-25 |
At least eleven people were injured Wednesday in Srinagar, summer capital of Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir when militants tossed a powerful grenade at a security bunker in the city, even as Indian Prime Minister asked the security forces to deal firmly with the militants. The explosion occurred when militants threw a hand grenade at an Indian Central Reserve Police Force bunker in uptown Srinagar Wednesday afternoon, news agencies reported. "Three CRPF soldiers and eight civilians were injured in the explosion. The injured have been shifted to the hospital and the condition of one is serious, " police told reporters in Srinagar Wednesday. The explosion took place three hours after the arrival of Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to preside over the two-day roundtable conference on Kashmir issue in Srinagar. |
