NABLUS, West Bank — A Palestinian was killed early Friday in a large Israeli raid in the West Bank city of Nablus. Gunfire rang out as Israelis troops searched buildings in the old city, witnesses said.Palestinian officials identified the dead man as Raed Tubela, 26, a militant in the Al Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades, a group linked to President Mahmoud Abbas' Fatah party. The Israeli army said it sent troops into Nablus to arrest a Fatah activist, and they returned fire from the direction of an armed man they recognized. He died later in a hospital, the army said.
