There have been repeated postings here complaining that it's the women who have the power to change Islam by refusing to accept the radicals' nonsense. Here is an example of how it can be done: the women (a first class graduated and on government salary, a second class being formed to follow them) trained in the details of their faith, and given the tools to counter the arguments of those who would use Islam to oppress all; sent out by the king to share this knowledge and training with other women, especially the poor and the powerless -- those most likely to accept oppression out of ignorance and piety -- and to their children -- those next in line to oppress and be oppressed, and those most likely to follow the banner of jihad. Additionally, according to the article (most interestingly, presented straight, without any snickering about incompetent and foolish women attempting tasks beyond the ability of their sex), the women are being trained in basic business, computer and psychology skills, which can be turned to becoming self-supporting, which additionally frees them from total dependence on the goodwill of the men in their lives. |
