DASKA: A schoolgirl escaped unhurt when two boys tried to set her on fire after failing to kidnap her from outside her school in Sayyan village on Saturday. According to the first information report, Muhammad Tahir and his accomplice allegedly tried to kidnap Safina, 15, a resident of Malhowali village, when she came out of her school on Saturday.When the girl resisted, the accused sprinkled petrol on her and tried to set her ablaze. People came to her rescue, foiling the attempt and saved the girl from being burnt. Later, the accused allegedly tried to throw acid on her face but she remained safe. The accused escaped from the scene threatening the girl of dire consequences, in addition to making announcement to kidnap her at any cost. Satrah police have registered a case, while the accused are still at large. People expressed grave concern over the incident, demanding immediate arrest of the accused.
