Two former armed group members have turned themselves in to police. One of the militants surrendered a Kalashnikov assault rifle and admitted his involvement in a raid on the village of Roshni-Chu led by his armed group commander Kazbek Batalov, who was killed in a sweep operation later, a Sunzha district police source told Interfax. Several servicemen and police officers were killed in the Roshni-Chu attack last summer. The second man said he had been a member of Viskhan Arsanukayev's armed group that operated in Grozny's Staropromyslovsky district. |
