#1  Maybe I'm tired, but I found the article confusing. Lots of native Dutch are emigrating, but lots are repatriating, too? I have several Dutch friends who were sent on assignments elsewhere, then returned home after a number of years. The assignments were all temporary ones(3-5 years), and they never thought of themselves as having permanently left their home country, no more than we did went we were sent to Europe. In fact, Mr. Wife's employer has the habit of sending the willing on repeated assignments abroad. And anyway, isn't part of the point of the EU that of freedom of movement for labour? And anyway, now that Shell has divested itself of its refinery business on Curacao, why would the Dutch move to the Netherland Antilles?
