Paleos ransack Greenhouses Again: Worse this time
2006-02-10
Some 200 dunams of greenhouse space in the Gaza Strip were ransacked recently by dozens of armed Palestinians and residents of Khan Yunis....According to Palestinian and international sources involved in running the greenhouses, the armed robbers belonged to two militias, the Assistance Committees and the Popular Army, affiliated with former Palestinian ruling party Fatah. These militias had been hired by the Palestinian Authority to guard both the ruins of the former settlements and the greenhouses, which were all under cultivation. But instead of guarding the greenhouses, the guards decided to rob them....

#11  actually i think its called the green line cause thats how it was drawn on a map.

Theres plenty of desert left on the Israeli side of the green line, and there are farms on the pal side - which i must point out is NOT the Pal side - its a disputed area, with some sections I expect (and hope) will become part of israel.

Hummus and Pita are made on both sides of the line, by both Israelis and Pals, and are good on both sides :)

Pals in the Persian Gulf etc seem to work pretty hard. Their economy in the territories is messed up largely cause of their corrupt leadership, and their violence (of which this is an example) Unfortunately it looks like it will be years before that changes.

#10  I guess there won't be any movement in the Green Line seperating Israel and the paleos. While this is the pre-67 border, it is called the green line because everything on the Israeli side is green and growing. Nothing but dirt on the paleo side. Guess they burn all their effort making pita and hummus. Nothing left to build a working society.

I have more admiration and respect for Israel every time I go there.

#7  Yeah, working sucks. It's much easier to stand around with an AK-47 and get paid to be "security forces", whatever the hell that is.

#6  As usual, the only "growth" industry in the Palestinain Terrortories is simple destruction. This is a sterling example of why Abbas' and Hamas' rule is nothing but a joke. They continue in the outmoded tradition of thuggery and extortion and bring nothing to the international table.

#4  Does anyone know the difference between the Boy Scouts and the Paleo's?

The Boy Scouts have adult leadership.

Rimshot! Hey, I'm here all week. . .

#2  It helps to substitute "Crips" and "Bloods" for Hamas and Fatah. It clarifies what they are.

I think "rockets" and "bombs" fits the situation better.

#1  It's looking like Fatah and Hamas are going for the whole "role reversal" thing.
