Chavez: “The descendants of the Christ-killers” control the world
2006-01-03
Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez announced in a Christmas speech that "the descendants of those who crucified Christ" have appropriated the riches of the world.

Speaking at a rehabilitation center on December 24, the controversial left-wing president said "the descendants of those who crucified Christ... have taken ownership of the riches of the world, a minority has taken ownership of the gold of the world, the silver, the minerals, water, the good lands, petrol, well, the riches, and they have concentrated the riches in a small number of hands..."

#22  Always amazes me that some folks try to absolve Socialism from all the horrors committed it's hideous daughters (Communism, Fascism, Nazism, Maoism, and all the various subsects like Enviromentalism). At the end of the day, it's still their momma.

I'm with Solzhenitsyn on this - "All Socialism leads to the camps."

#20  Well, he certainly sprouts a lot of communist rhetoric for a non-communist.

Are you sure you are not confusing it with more general socialist rhetoric?

Then again, it's funny how so many organizations with the name "communist" in the title fit typical fascist definitions.

Most communist organizations are nowadays indeed fascist ones (after all the Soviet Union was likewise a fascist state, for most of its existence atleast -- and all the remaining Marxist-Leninist states are likewise fascist nowadays). Their claims to internationalism are their only distinguishing characteristic from "traditional" fascist parties -- claims which often prove hollow anyway.

#17  So what's Evo Morales, exactly? I recall that he specifically ran on and won on race (as one of the "indigenous"), referencing "the white man" as the enemy... that's not racist how?

#16  I thought chavez was a communist, curious that he's playing the religious card.

He's not a communist.

He's part of a social-fascist global movement, yes, but his sort always tend to ally with both religious and racial local fanatics, especially in the third world. (In the developed world they do so also, but in a much more covert manner)

#14  Chavez is just another in a long line of pseudo-populist dictators in Latin America. Most of them have been classic fascists of one stripe or another, as demonstrated by "nationalization" of entire industries built by "outsiders". That claptrap is straight out of the fascist handbook. They also usually blend in some kind of racial appeal, to better pump up their supporters. Kind of a Latin American Kristallnacht.
