#2 I don't agree with Gunaratna. The main systemic problem in Indonesia as in most of the Muslim world is the absence of good governance and the consequent corruption, incompetance, and arbitrary repressive actions of government employees, which makes religous rule look like a good alternative. Incidentally, Gunaratna is a lightly disguised character in my next novel about terrorism in SEA. |
