#13  .com's got it about right; I was watching NCIS tonight, found it decent, and I was not expecting the plot twist.

CBS wants to replace Rather with someone...
And you thought I was kidding?
OK OK It is photoshopped...
But like Dan, it is fake but accurate...

#10  CBS? Oh, yeah - they're some sort of cable shopping channel - right?

#9  yes, well, look at the new business model, where they save an entire division ("investigative journos") in favor of publishing Leftist press-releases

#8  The news division has never made money, except, perhaps, for 60 Minutes, which does belong in the entertainment division.

#7  PD - that's what my cryptic post was leading to - good explanation, thx

#6  Separating the "news" division from the "entertainment" division would certainly clarify things for investors. The "news" division will probably never recover from the Dan/Mary debacle. 60 Minutes has been sucking for some years and has finally been challenged for its skewed slant and bias.

The "entertainment" division, on the other hand has s plethora of winners - all of them "cop" shows, e.g. CSI: trio. Hell, you could take that division and rename it the Jerry Bruckheimer Division. Damned near all their eggs are in one basket. Guess they'd better cut loose the "news" losers -- and watch that basket.

#4  I'd like to think you are right moose - but somehow these types always seem to land on their feet.

#3  I suspect CBS is going to head downward a lot more rapidly in the future. I doubt few here would find that any reason for sorrow, however.

#2  Somewhat fake. The fell from an arbitrarily set initial price. If they fall again tomorrow by a similar amount, that'll be news.
