Nutty Kiss Kills Kanuckistan Kid

An autopsy will be performed on the body of a 15-year-old girl in Quebec's Saguenay region who officials believe died from an allergic reaction to her boyfriend's kiss.

The girl was allergic to peanuts, and while she did not actually consume the nuts herself, officials believe she reacted after kissing her boyfriend who had eaten peanut butter.

The apparently fatal kiss took place last Sunday in JonquiÃšre, Que.

Although an adrenaline shot was administered almost immediately, the teen did not recover, Montreal newspaper La Presse reports.

The girl was rushed to hospital, where she eventually died after suffering respiratory failure.

#4 Just switch to cashew butter or pecan butter or one of the other nut butters. They are tasty and don't hurt folks.

Of course since I am middle allergic to peanuts I am biased.

#3 The poor dude that kissed her. Sure it's sad she died but he will forever be known in cheesehead land for his "kiss of death". He won't get laid until he changes his name and moves to France!

#2 This is actually a real drag in lots of ways besides the unfortunate young girl's demise. Many schools are now prohibiting any peanut products on their property to prevent kids from trading lunchbags and similar exposure vectors as what happened in the article. This eliminates peanut butter sandwiches (which are an inexpensive, easy to make and nutritious dietary component) from kid's lunches at school.
