#5 Don't chew gum or spit on the sidewalks there either..... The chewing gum ban in Singapore was enacted in 1992 and revised 2004. It bans the import and sale of chewing gum in Singapore |

#3 /minor rant I lived in Singapore for years and have had dengue, which makes me at risk (5% fatality rate) from a second strain infection resulting in dengue hemmoraghic fever. I'd be happy if they fined $1,000,000 and took flamethrowers to the offending areas. And as far as serial clipping of tourists - Singapore is an amazing safe place and people are scrupiously honest. If you got cheated you must be as dumb as bricks. |

#2 When I was there they find a local S$1000, after they found mosquito larvae in a bucket in his back yard. On the other hand, the serial clipping of tourists warrants nothing but a smile from Singapore's cops. |
