#4  I am really curious to see with the next French election if the French population is worth saving or have they already surrendered to their fate with no fight. That question will be answered by either worth fighting for (Vel e Pen) or surrendered no fight (Chirac). I cant wait I have faith the common EU person is good and willing to fight for thier own survival and are stuck with a political Elite that are well panzified peace-love-&-happiness brainwashed hold outs.

#2  It is little known but during teh Reconquitsta there was a place in Spain who was really an example of religious tolerance but it was not Muslim Spin but the Christian kingdom of Castilla (don't know about the others). It was in Catilla where Alfonso X the Wise claimed to be "King of the Three Religions" (Christian, Jewish and Muslim).

Also at one point the hard pressed Christian Kingdoms called for reinforcements before a new campaign against the Almohads. They got them mainly from France but when the French knights began harrassing the Jews, the Spaniards made them camp outside the cities. Of course the French weren't happy and they ended returning to France. So the Spanish went to battle alone, a battle they couldn't afford to lose since the disasster of Alarcos had grievely depleted them of man power so the fact they had stood firm agsint the French (an experienced lot, and according to Spanish sources far better than the militias provided by the cities) has still more merit.

On the aftermath the Spaniards crushed the Almohads at Navas de Tolosa so decisively that the Spanish Muslims would never again mount a major offensive agaisnt the Christians. However despite its ovewhelming outcome it was a battle who was very close to end with a severe defeta of the Christians.

#1  The Almohads (1130-1232) wrought tremendous destruction upon both the Jewish and Christian populations in Spain and North Africa. This devastation—massacre, captivity, and forced conversion—was described by the Jewish chronicler Abraham Ibn Daud, and the poet Abraham Ibn Ezra.

In other words: Here comes the new boss Europe, same as the old boss.
